Currently the First Presbyterian Church Youth Group students are selling chances for a 55-inch smart TV or a charcoal grill. This fundraiser is one of the many ways they fund their own summer church camp. Not only do the students receive donations, they also make donations to local organizations.

Last year after the fundraising was complete and summer church camp was paid for the youth group had extra funds. Since they were also learning about the importance of community the students decided they needed to share their extra funds with their community, which had so selflessly given to them. After discussing their wishes with their youth leaders, the students decided to share their extra funds with two local organizations. The youth group donated $300 to the Alva Wesleyan Food Bank, and they donated $300 to the Alva Senior Citizen Center.

The youth group and their leaders believe "we are a strong community that supports one another."
