Lt. Gov. Turkey Hunt hosts many guests
April 14, 2019
The annual Lieutenant Governor's Turkey Hunt in Alva combines fun with business. Representatives of business, industry and government are invited not only to hunt but also to tour the opportunities in the area. Local landowners volunteer their property for hunting and local hunters act as hunting guides for the visitors.
The hunt begins with a dinner on Wednesday followed by a day of hunting on Thursday. Then everyone gathers for another dinner where drawings are held for prizes and hunters get the chance to tell of their experiences in the field. Friday offers the chance for more hunting.
The hunt is coordinated through the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and local people who work to make it a success.
