Fighting new healthcare fee

I was considering a different topic for this column when J. Herning brought in a letter to the editor and a related article. He addresses a new healthcare issue, one that can affect anyone who seeks medical care. Here’s the letter:
Letter to the Editor:
In late 2013 I had open heart surgery and a triple bypass at an Enid hospital. Obviously I survived, but it was hard. The surgeon did a good job.
Recently I went to the hospital-owned heart clinic in Enid for a check-up. They charged $152 for a 20-minute appointment during which a P.A. checked me over and a nurse took my blood pressure.
