Estate drops lawsuit over inmate's death at Oklahoma prison

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The estate of a 25-year-old woman who died in prison is dropping its lawsuit against the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

Amber Hilberling was serving a 25-year prison sentence for pushing her husband to his death from the 25th floor of their high-rise apartment complex in Tulsa. Hilberling had argued she was acting in self-defense, but she was convicted of second-degree murder.

Hilberling died in 2016 at the Mabel Bassett Correctional Center in McLoud, and her death was ruled a suicide. Her estate sued the corrections department, alleging inadequate supervision, medical...
