Bo Sutton Highlights Series Finale with SAU

MAGNOLIA, Ark. - Tiger Baseball took the early lead in game one, but fell in the end 7-4. The Tigers then forfeited their lead late in game two losing 4-3 to the Muleriders.

Bo Sutton led the Tigers from the plate as he went 4-8 including a double and a triple. Sutton drove in four runs on the day having two in each game. Cade McBride also drove in two runs on the day with an RBI in each game.

The Tigers struck first in game one as Bo Sutton triple to start off the top of the second inning. Logan Huney cut singled him home during the next at bat to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. The Tigers then allowed the Muleriders to secure a 5-1 lead over the next two innings.

The Tigers fought back in the top of the fifth as Pierce Mitchum started the inning with a leadoff walk. The Tigers placed two runners on base after a Louis Steen two out walk which led to Bo Sutton driving in two runs on a double. After two consecutive walks the Tigers loaded the bases, but in the end a throw by the third basemen on a ground ball just beat the Tiger runner at first base. The Tigers put another run across the plate in the top of the ninth but fall in the end to a score of 7-4.

In the second game the Tigers allowed the Muleriders to take an early 2-0 lead in the second inning. In the fourth the Tigers put runners on the corners after an Aaron Studdard walk and Logan Huneycutt single. Bo Sutton then would cut the Mulerider lead in half by singling in Studdard. Luke Scaggs on the mound pitched five innnings of baseball only allowing two runs on three hits.

In the top of the sixth the Tigers secured runners on first and second after an Aaron Studdard leadoff single and a one out walk by Tyler Riebock. Bo Sutton pushed Studdard across the plate on a single. Cade McBride then singled home Tyler Riebock to give the Tigers the 3-2 lead. However, the Muleriders scored two in the bottom of the sixth to win the game 4-3.

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Memphis to face off against Christian Brothers University before coming home to battle Henderson State next weekend.
