I like to think of myself as being a good grocery shopper. I enjoy searching for bargains and saving money without sacrificing the quality of the food my family and I eat.

The week I turned 16 years old I got a job in a grocery store, where I worked for over a year. On Friday afternoons after school and all day on Saturdays I sacked groceries. On Tuesday afternoons I got to fill in for the “produce man” who had the day off.

That brief job that I had years ago hardly makes me an expert on groceries, but I do believe it made me a better shopper.
