Dinner time

 


C.S. Lewis said, “The sun looks down on nothing half so good as a household laughing together over a meal.” I agree, and some of my fondest memories involve the family dinner table.

I was an only child, but Nicki and I have ample memories of sharing meals with our daughters. My dad was a merchant so his hours were regular. We could count on joining him for breakfast, lunch and dinner until my school schedule disrupted the norm.

During the summer, I would ride my bike to the Farmer’s Co-op Hardware where I could hitch a ride home with Dad. I looked forward to that time and again in the evening...
