Donald R. Rucker, 79, of Sharon, Kansas, died Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital, Medicine Lodge, Kansas.

He was born on October 14, 1939, in Forest City, Kansas, the son of the late Lee Rucker and Ruby Ruth (Martin) Rucker. On May 30, 1959, he married Barbara (Rose) Rucker in Alva, Oklahoma. She survives.

Donald worked for 13 years at National Gypsum before becoming a full-time farmer/rancher. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Medicine Lodge.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Barbara Rucker (of Sharon, Kansas) are two sons, Mark Rucker (of Sharon) and Michael (Denise) Rucker (of Medicine Lodge); two daughters, Linda Lukens (of Medicine Lodge) and Donna (Larry) Gaug (of Harper, Kansas); ten grandchildren, Clayton Rucker, Wayne Rucker, Wendy Potelle, Brandon Lukens, Wesley Lukens, Jeremy Gaug, Lindsey Smith, Courtney Rucker, Lee Rucker and Landon Rucker; 11 great-grandchildren, Demarian, Justin, Tanner, Ryder, Cheyenne, Cannon, Colter, Reid, Cammille, Kynlee and Kase; and two brothers, Gary (Emmajo) Rucker (of Medicine Lodge) and David (Mary) Rucker (of Sharon).

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services were held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Medicine Lodge with Pastor Tom Walters officiating. Inurnment followed in Highland Cemetery in Medicine Lodge.
