Cherokee senior recognized for becoming Oklahoma Academic All-State Scholar

 

The spotlight was on Cherokee High School senior Toby Highfill at the school board meeting Monday night as the young man received special recognition for his achievement in becoming an Oklahoma Academic All-State scholar. Highfill's appointment from the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence is the second Academic All-State in three years. Superintendent Donna Anderson praised the student for his successful efforts and also acknowledged the school's educators for producing another winner."What that says to me is that we got some teachers that are helping kids develop what they have."
