Road washout causes wreck

 


A driver was injured when he failed to see a washout in the road. Delton Joe Woods, 49, of Blackwell, was transported by Pond Creek EMS to Bass Hospital in Enid and later transferred by LIFE EMS to Baptist in Oklahoma City. He was admitted in stable condition with a leg injury.

The wreck occurred early Monday morning at 4:46 a.m. on Coal Road, a quarter mile east of County Road 960 in Grant County. The location is approximately four miles south and four miles east of Pond Creek.

Woods was driving a 1996 Chevrolet pickup east on Coal Road and failed to notice a washout in the gravel roadway.
