Wonder Boys' season ends in extra-inning heartbreaker at GAC tourney


ENID, Okla.– Harry Gard and Zack Kesterson both turned in three-hit performances, leading a crew of five Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys baseball players to rack up multiple hits, but the Wonder Boys baseball team (29-23) was unable to overcome a late rally by Harding (33-20), falling 13-10 to the Bisons in an extra-inning slugfest in an elimination game at the Great American Conference championship tournament.

In addition to the three hits by Gard and Kesterson, McDearmon, Hickerson and Miner added two hits apiece.

Hayes Cox earned no decision after scattering nine hits over 4.2 innings of work, surrendering seven runs, walking four and fanning three.

Kohl Drake suffered the loss after allowing four runs in 4.1 innings of work, surrendering eight hits, walking none, and fanning six.
