Northwestern's social sciences department holds induction ceremony for honor societies

Northwestern Oklahoma State University's social sciences department inducted new members into the Phi Alpha Theta, Pi Sigma Alpha and Pi Gamma Mu international honor societies May 1 during a ceremony in the Jesse Dunn building.

Phi Alpha Theta is an international history honor society dedicated to promote the study of history. Requirements for membership include a minimum 12 hours of history, a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and a grade point average of at least 3.1 in history.

The sponsor for the Northwestern chapter is Dr. Eric Schmaltz, professor of history.
