Heavy rain causes drainage problems at airport

 


Flooding was a major topic of discussion during the Alva Airport Commission meeting Monday. Several areas had drainage problems including the newest airport hangar building

The heavy rainfall of May 7 and 8 that undermined an Alva street, flooded basements and damaged a number of rural roads presented a challenge to runoff water systems in the area. At one point, all major highways into Alva were closed due to flooding.
