Opinions vary on failed school bond election

 


With 51 percent of Freedom's residents voting yes and 49 percent voting no, the 2019 Freedom Public School bond was not passed Tuesday, May 14. A 60 percent majority is required.

The school bond was worth $1.4 million, and would have been used to repair and replace fixtures within Freedom Schools. The bond projects included replacing various exterior windows, correcting drainage issues on the south side of campus, upgrading the exterior façade, installing LED lighting and improving campus ADA handicapped access.
