Sunday afternoon the press crew and I were finishing the pressrun of the Nescatunga Arts Festival section that's included in this Newsgram. I checked my phone for the latest weather updates and was surprised to see a flood warning from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Weather Service (NWS) for the Salt Fork of the Arkansas River. This is the river than passes just north of Alva into Alfalfa County and through the Great Salt Plains Lake.
