Salt Fork River floods low-lying areas of Alva

Flood water lines both sides of US281 north of Alva just south of the Salt Fork River bridge Monday about 6 p.m. The metal building on a rise is the new Alva transfer station.

The Salt Fork River floods low-lying areas north of Alva Monday evening. The river was expected to crest early Tuesday morning. This view from US281 on the north side of the bridge shows the KALV towers in the background.
