Elevator operators say muddy fields have held up cutting, but hopeful by later week

Just when combines try to get in fields of now amber waves of grain to cut what appears to be a high yielding wheat crop, Mother Nature again opens the clouds for another few inches of rain. Talking to elevator operators in the Newsgram reading area Monday, June 17, found harvest has yet to get in full swing with only a small amount of wheat cut.
When asked what's happening in Dacoma with harvest, co-op manager Jake Kelln said one word: “mud.”
