Kansas man dies in truck north of Alva

A Kansas man died Tuesday afternoon near Alva. He was in a truck which left the road and drove into a wheat field. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released his name on Friday. The fatality incident occurred at 3:27 p.m. on State Highway 11 approximately a quarter mile east of U.S. Highway 281. The location is about seven miles north of Alva in Woods County.
Eduardo Aguilera, 29, of Topeka, Kansas, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was transported by Marshall Funeral Home of Alva to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City. M.E. Investigator Jennifer Staggs was on scene.
Aguilar was driving a 2016 Kenworth truck and had stopped on the south side of the highway. The truck then began to travel down the eastbound ditch, crossed over the roadway and went into a wheat field where it came to a stop.
The cause of the incident and the condition of the driver is under investigation. OHP Trooper Randy McCullough investigated, assisted by Troopers Justin Barney, Seth Sturgeon and Jeff Steelman along with the Woods County Sheriff’s Office, Alva EMS and Alva Fire Department.
