Oklahoma State adds Cunningham to coaching staff

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma State has hired Cannen Cunningham as an assistant basketball coach.

Cunningham, a former SMU star, spent last season at Tulane as the associate director of video operations under Mike Dunleavy Sr. He was responsible for acquiring, editing and distributing team film to the coaching staff and assisting with opponent scouting.

As a player at SMU, Cunningham established a program record for games played with 134 and helped the Mustangs reach the 2015 NCAA Tournament. His 131 blocks ranked sixth and his 52.1 percent field goal percentage stood 10th in school history when he graduated.

John Cooper will now serve as special assistant coach Mike Boynton. He has been on Boynton's staff the past two seasons.
