I Hope You had a Great Fourth of July

There were lots of activities everywhere, so there was something for everyone. Thanks to all the volunteers that make it all possible.

Dad, Jack and I went the south route for casinos on the 4th. The highlight of the trip was free ice cream at the Oklahoma Casino north of Hinton. The worst part was at Hinton also.

Jack and I dropped Dad off and then drove to the Red Rock Canyon State Park, only to find it is no longer a state park. The lady at the entrance wanted $10 for Jack and me to just drive through. I asked why and she said the owners set this fee on Friday, the weekend and holidays. It seems the state sold our state park to private individuals.

I didn't get much time to research it, but as near as I could tell, the state is selling off public properties. It was said that these parks cost too much money to operate. Another freedom is being taken away by Stitt and our politicians; more on this later.

We went driving around the Canton Lake for free. The boat ramps and picnic tables are out in the lake quite a ways. Someone said it was 10 foot over full. The funniest sight was a couple and their kids were using a picnic table to play and eat on that was in a foot or so of water.

The last two nights of the Act I play “Guys and Dolls” did not disappoint. We have a great first class place to watch these plays, we have lots of people to assist Director Thamazin Harrison, and we have kids willing to take the time to work hard and put on a great show. There's so much talent in Alva.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and see you again later. I liked these:

Stewardess on a plane to lady passenger: "Madam, when we asked you to turn off all electrical devices, we didn't mean your husband's pacemaker!"

And from a troublemaker on Facebook: Trying to find a winner among those 24 Democrats running for president is like looking for a Tootsie Roll in a septic tank! (Sorry fellow Democrats, but the truth can hurt.) I think I read where about half have already been eliminated.
