Freedom school board authorizes calling pared down bond election

 


Freedom board of education held a special meeting Monday, July 8, at noon to discuss some weighty matters.

After approving the consent agenda, consisting of encumbrances and warrants for general, building and child nutrition funds, the board launched into the question of whether and how to hold another bond election.

Jordan Smith of Stephen L. Smith Corp., who attended the meeting, discussed the various options. He explained to the board that when running a bond election again, they cannot “harass” the voter; therefore, they are required to wait six months from the date of the failed election...
