Carmen man charged with using pickup to try to run down mother

 


A Carmen man is charged with two felonies in Woods County after allegedly driving his pickup at high speed toward his mother with the intent to harm her.

Charles William Woods, 42, of Carmen, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, a felony, for driving his pickup at a high rate of speed toward Jerri Smith. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to ten years in the penitentiary or one year in the county jail.

Woods is also charged with planning, attempting and/or conspiring to perform an act of violence, a felony. He allegedly called his brother John Russell Fuqua and told hi...
