Overall the university welcomed 280 high school students from across the state. Fourteen are high school graduates who came to Northwestern prior to the camp's start so they could prepare for their roles as junior counselors during the workshop.

High school graduates serving as junior counselors at the July OASC Basic workshop are (from left, front row) Tobias Johnson, Lily Smith, Kobi Hampton, Cecilia Smith, Calli Ray, Claire LaReau, Lauren McCay and Ella Brinkmanship; (back row) Javier Martinez, Zachary Frame, Corbin Walls, Jason Nguyen, Winston Brown, Megan Szymanski, Nicole Lowry, Jeff Stockel and Dereck Jernigan.

Students attending for the week included high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. During the workshop, students were divided into 14 councils where they had to come up with a school name, mascot, colors and a school song and chant. Students in each council also were given real life problems to solve and then act out their resolutions using skits. They also participated in breakout sessions that included leadership styles, team building, etiquette, school spirit and activities.

Junior counselors, members of OASC for July who have graduated high school, were assigned to each of the 14 councils. Those counselors included Ella Brinkmanship, Winston Brown, Zachary Frame, Kobi Hampton, Dereck Jernigan, Tobias Johnson, Claire LeReau, Nicole Lowry, Javier Martinez, Lauren McCay, Jason Nguyen, Calli Ray, Cecilia Smith, Lily Smith, Jeff Stockel, Megan Szymanski and Corbin Walls.

Students used various buildings around campus and stayed in university housing along with the directors: Karen Koehn of Alva, workshop director for junior counselors and state officers; Kristi Neerman of Tulsa, director of facilities; Martha Embry of Tulsa, director of curriculum and adult staff; and Janet Carter of Sulphur, director of registration.

Koehn said she is very thankful to Northwestern and the Alva community for their support in playing host to the event.
