Off-duty Las Vegas policeman accidentally shoots himself

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say an off-duty Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer accidentally shot and wounded himself but is expected to survive.
They say the incident occurred Saturday night on the Las Vegas Strip.
Patrol officers were called out to investigate reports of the accidental shooting.
Arriving officers found the victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to his lower body.
The policeman was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police officials didn't immediately identify the victim, but they say an internal investigation will be conducted into the incident....
