Hopeton State Bank celebrates a century of service

July's Community Coffee was held at Hopeton State Bank Friday morning – just in time to honor the financial institution's 100th anniversary. Bank president Trent Goss took a few minutes to welcome guests and share a little of the bank's history, starting with some background on the Myers family. (It was purchased by W.D. Myers Jr., passed down to his sister Gertrude upon his death, and is now owned and chaired by W.D.'s daughter, Mary Margaret Myers Miller.) The bank has been in the same location since its inception.
