Ringwood man dies in collision with semi

 


A man from Ringwood died when a semi collided with his vehicle Monday in Major County. Claud Willie Koehn, 91, was pronounced dead at the scene by M.E. Investigator Kathy Valentine and transported to Fairview Funeral Home.

The collision occurred at 11:28 a.m. on US412 at the SH58 junction on the north edge of Ringwood. According to the highway patrol, Koehn was driving a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis northbound on SH58 when he failed to yield to westbound traffic. His car was struck in the passenger side by a 2007 Peterbilt semi driven by Clifford Aubrey Anderson, 42, of Liberal, Kansas.

Anderson was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid by the Ringwood EMS. He was treated and released.

Trooper Seth Sturgeon investigated, assisted by Troopers Kevin Edsall, Trey Mathews, Jason Burch, Donald Kraft, Caleb Swickey, Kyle Rosine, and Matt Wilczek. Also assisting were the Major County Sheriff’s Department, Ringwood Fire Department and Meno Fire Department.
