Inspired by nature and a love of art
August 4, 2019
Growing up on her family's tiny farm just outside Broken Bow, Nebraska, Vikki McGuire spent much of her time alone drawing the animals, trees and flowers that surrounded her.
Evolving from there, she has painted murals, still life, animals and abstracts. She also makes unique greeting cards, stationery and jewelry.
McGuire now lives in Norman in an area surrounded by woods. Currently, she's focusing on abstract paintings, "which I love because I can put my own thoughts and everything onto the canvas," she said.
During August, McGuire is displaying a collection of her aspen tree paintings. The beautiful pale trees with bright autumn foliage are depicted in varying light and scenes.
McGuire is presently a resident artist in the Contemporary Art Gallery in the Paseo Art District in Oklahoma City. You can view more of her work including her colorful abstracts on her website at vikkisfinearts.com.
