Man arrested in Waynoka for firearm possession

A man who had been convicted of a felony was arrested in Woods County for possessing a firearm.

Court records show on Aug. 18 at 3:10 p.m. Woods County Deputy David Cummings received information from a concerned citizen that Monty Long was going to be selling a firearm at Cimarron Wine and Spirits in Waynoka. Cummings knew Long was a convicted felon and not permitted to have control of a firearm, but he confirmed through county dispatch that Long was indeed a convicted felon.
