Springdale's students get new alternative learning center

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) — The Archer Learning Center's new home adjacent to Murphy Park has excited its students, Principal Coby Davis noticed.

"Kids are a lot more interested when it feels like the space is made for them," he told the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

What was the city's Recreation Center now houses the School District's alternative learning environment for high school students.

The district bought the building from the city in December for $2.2 million while selling Archer's former home on East Meadow Avenue to Recasting LLC, also for $2.2 million.
