Secure passwords, smart speakers that turn on unexpectedly, and public WiFi are some of the online security issues addressed in the October 2019 Consumer Reports (CR) magazine. Titled “Who is watching you?” the article provides a lot of useful information. I immediately used some of their advice.

Hopefully by now you know about secure passwords. CR recommends a lengthy random string of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and characters such as @, # and $. One suggestion is to take a phrase or sentence and use the first letter of each word, adding numbers and characters.
