Mr. Stengel goes to Washington – part 4

In doing some research for this article, I came across numerous Casey Stengel quotes. As I mentioned earlier, some of his statements are just witty while others are almost meaningless gibberish – known as “Stengelese.”
One quote I saw attributed to him was: “Don’t make predictions, especially about the future.” This caught my attention, because I have also seen that witticism credited to Yogi Berra.
Berra, as I noted in a previous article, was a Hall of Fame catcher for Stengel when the Yankees were winning numerous championships in the 1950s. Both, quite obviously, thought they were comedians...
