KDH Jeans and Gems `Small Town Saturday Night' Sept. 21

• Silent and live auction raising funds for KDH Wellness/Physical Therapy Addition

September 11, 2019

Wow! Do you want premium tickets to the Miranda Lambert concert and spending money or tickets to a Kansas City Chiefs game with lots of fan memorabilia? Maybe you'd like to take a 30-minute small plane ride to see an aerial view of your home and other sites in the area. Perhaps your grandchildren need a truly usable John Deere pedal tractor with a front end loader.

You'll find that and much more, good food and live musical entertainment at Kiowa District Healthcare's 6th Annual Jeans and Gems The event is the evening of Saturday, Sept. 21 at Kiowa's Community Building, beginning at 5:30 to 11 p.m.

Maybe you just want to listen to and dance to the Lane Haas Band. The theme is “Small Town Saturday Night” featuring a burger bar, drinks, a shortcake bar, etc. “The Quake” radio station DJ Austin Graves will be your emcee.

There's a silent auction for you to peruse and bid on your favorites. There's a huge variety of items donated for that such as gift baskets, designer jewelry and many more creations. To see some of those items, go to the KDH Facebook page. When you're downtown Kiowa look in the front windows of Studio 534 that are overflowing with donated items.

After dinner get ready for the live auction of the items mentioned at the top of the story and much more as seen on Facebook and downtown. There's always some baked goods as delicious as the evening is fun that bring a top premium at the auction.

Raising Funds for a KDH Wellness/Physical Therapy Addition

While the evening is all about you having a fun time with friends, you'll be helping fund a new Wellness/Physical Therapy and Behavioral Health Building Addition at KDH. Judy Schrock is president of the Friends of the KDH and Manor Foundation that is the backbone of fundraising support for KDH.

Schrock said that thanks to strong support from sponsors and auction bidders, previous Jeans and Gems events raised $120,000 for the benefit of local healthcare services. The funds this year will help support Phase II of the Foundation's “Where Community and Care Come Together” campaign for the new Wellness/PT addition.

Advance tickets to Jeans and Gems can be purchased at the hospital. All Advance ticket holders will go in a drawing for a $50 auction credit.
