SAU's Carley Hale named GAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
September 19, 2019
Russellville, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced their weekly cross-country awards today, and the Muleriders swept the awards for the first time in almost four years.
Junior Carley Hale, for the first time in her career, received the honors as the junior has been on fire to start the season.
Entering this season, Hale had recorded three top-10 finishes in her career – this season, she has two through two meets, nearly matching her career total.
Hale finished third this past weekend at the Bob Gravett Invitational hosted by Ouachita Baptist. Her third-place finish came at a time of 19:51.4, the fifth-fastest mark of her career.
Hale joins Lexington Hilton on the men's side as GAC Runners of the Week, marking the first time since October 21, 2015 that the Muleriders swept the Runner of the Week awards, and the fourth time overall as members of the GAC.
Hale and the Muleriders are in action this Saturday as they compete in the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Missouri.
