The Alva Goldbugs fought hard in a 23-8 win over Fairview High School Friday night.
The Alva Goldbugs brought home their first win of the season Friday against a longtime rival. The Goldbugs won 23-8 in the non-conference game against the Fairview Yellowjackets. Alva is now 1-2 and will begin conference play at Hennessey next Friday.
Senior Reece Martin was still out with a rib injury, but the Goldbugs welcomed the addition of Austin Reed who didn't join the team until after the first two games.
The Fairview team has been plagued with injuries, losing both their first and second string quarterbacks.
Both teams found the wind either helped or hurt them, depending on their dire...
