Emergency personnel were called to the scene of a wreck at 8th Street and the old hospital building. This was near 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
Barber County Sheriff's Deputy Chad Hacker said an elderly gentleman, Mr. Ashbaker, was behind the wheel of a Chevy HHR car. Hacker said Ashbaker had reportedly just dropped his grandson off at the apartments across 8th Street to the west of the old hospital.
Then for an unknown reason, Hacker said Ashbaker was sitting in the parking lot directly north of the former hospital. As he started to move the car west, Ashbaker hit the side of the old building. Then...
