Stitt demands approval of agency requests for federal grants

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt is demanding that all state agencies receive approval from his office before applying for federal grants or other outside funding.

The Republican issued an executive order on Tuesday requiring approval of his Secretary of Budget Mike Mazzei (MAY'-zee) before any state agency, board or commission applies for a grant of more than $50,000 from a foundation or nonprofit. The threshold is increased to $100,000 for applications for federal grants.
