The Alva Robotics team Technic Gold attended Heartland BEST Kickoff Day on Sept. 21. This year's game is called, "Off the Grid," and the robots are being asked to reestablish electrical power following a major catastrophe.

Some of the tasks the robot will be asked to perform are reattaching power lines and transformers, replacing underground conduit, autonomously moving insulators across the field, and removing debris. Sounds easy, right? The team will have six weeks to design and build a robot and prepare an advertising campaign to sell it.
