Woods County Retired Educators learn about Project HOPE

Northwest Technology Center instructor Sharon Corder presented a program on Project HOPE (Helping Others Pursue Employment) at the Sept. 19 meeting of the Woods County Retired Educators Association (WCREA) held at the Alva Public Library Auditorium.

Project HOPE was established in 1997 as a result of the federal government’s Welfare Reform Act. Clients of the Department of Human Services who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) are referred to Project HOPE for career services, including vocational training.
