Alva Goldbug Kaden Slater throws a strike to Gavin Perez for the long touchdown pass on the first play of the game.

Scoring in Friday night's Alva vs. Hennessey football game sounds more like basketball than the gridiron. The Alva Goldbugs won the road game 61-49.

Alva welcomed back senior Reece Martin who had to sit out the last two games with a rib injury. The Hennessey Eagles have a new coach this year in Brian Hix and entered the game with a 0-3 record while Alva was at 1-2.

As the final score indicates, the game was mostly offense. There were numerous breakaway rushes and pass plays like the 94 yard pass play from Kaden Slater to Gavin Perez that led to a touchdown on Alva's first possession.
