First Presbyterian youth attend Interfaith Youth Tour

October 4, 2019

At the Muslim mosque, the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma, students learned about the importance of loving their neighbors.

On Sunday, Sept. 15, Rachel Bratton and Bentley Cox attended the 2019 Interfaith Youth Tour with their youth sponsor Greg Smith. They toured three places of worship: a Hindu temple, a Muslim mosque, and a Church of the Nazarene. This was an opportunity that allowed youth to experience and learn about other religions.

Both students advised the most informative and insightful worship location was the mosque. Bratton and Cox discovered that loving our neighbors is important.

This was the 12th Annual Interfaith Youth Tour, with over 300 in attendance this year. The places of worship visited were all in Oklahoma City.

This Oklahoma City Hindu temple is the Nithyanandeshwara Vedic Temple of Oklahoma.
