South Barber FFA Annual Calf Fry and Work Auction to be Oct. 14

October 9, 2019

Fall has arrived and that project around the house, farm, or place of business that you have wanted to get completed this summer is still sitting there undone. The South Barber FFA chapter has a solution to this problem.

On Monday, Oct. 14, 29 FFA members, one officer team, and one advisor, will be on the auction block, committing to an eight-hour work day for a donation of your choice. Do you have a shop or garage that needs cleaned out? Do you have fencing that needs fixing, flowerbeds that need weeding or a lawn that needs to be mowed or raked? The members of the South Barber FFA chapter are eager and willing to help you with these or any other tasks that you may need assistance with throughout the upcoming year.

This year’s work auction will be held at the Kiowa Community Building. The free meal consisting of calf fries, pork loin, brisket, green beans and dessert, will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. We anticipate the auction beginning somewhere around 7 or 7:15 p.m. All funds raised will go directly into the South Barber FFA activity account and allow the program to function and operate throughout the year. South Barber FFA members are active in leadership events, public speaking contests, livestock judging teams, career development events, parliamentary procedure, agricultural mechanics contests, state and national conventions and a host of other activities utilizing the school farm facility and local agriculture mechanics shop and classroom.
