Area student named national winner of diversified agricultural production award

Blake Failes from Cherokee was selected as a national finalist for the National FFA Proficiency Award in Diversified Agricultural Production.
Failes, a member of the Cherokee FFA chapter, became eligible for the national award after being selected as one of four national finalists during the 2019 National FFA National Finalist Selection Process earlier this summer.
In recognition of being a national finalist, Failes will receive a national finalist medallion and $500 during the special ceremony at the National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana, Oct. 30–Nov. 2....
