THE MOST TENDER AND FLAVORFUL RIBS – At Kiowa's Fall Fest 3rd Annual Meat Cookoff Sunday gusty winds blowing smoke from charcoal and propane grills only added to the anticipation of when the crowd could sample the succulent meats cooking inside. These three won the judges' vote for cooking the most divine ribs that gently fell off the bone. Winners shown are (from left) 3rd place Teresa Tomlin; 2nd place Matt Murphy; and 1st place John Doherty. THE MOST SUCCULENT PULLED PORK OR BEEF, ALL DELICIOUS – At Kiowa's Fall Fest 3rd Annual Meat Cookoff Sunday the race was on for the slow cooking BBQ meat that would pull apart and be oh so tender. The judges picked these three as the best: 3rd place John Schupbach who also took 1st place in the "other" category with some mighty fine poultry; 2nd place, Jarrod Inman; 1st place, Casey Williams (whose late father Monty would be so proud because he was an award-winning outdoor chef).
