Billy Ray Henson, age 72, of Newton, Kansas, died Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Newton Medical Center in Newton, Kansas. He was born April 1, 1947, in Seymour, Missouri, the son of Hiram and Alta (Henry) Henson.

Billy moved to Ulysses, Kansas, with his family at a young age. He attended Ulysses schools until he entered U.S. Navy training in Great Lakes, Illinois. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1968 after serving aboard the USS Suffolk County during the Vietnam War.
