On a chilly Friday evening, the Mooreland Bearcats hosted the last regular season game against the Hooker Bulldogs. Both teams needed this win to seal their fates and continue on to the playoffs. The Bearcats came out to win and scored first with a nice pitch from quarterback (QB) Dawson Frazier (1) to Connor Scarborough (27) who rushed in for 6. The 2-point try was no good and with 6:32 left in the first, the Bearcats led.

The Bulldogs and the Bearcats missed opportunities to score due to penalties and fumbles. But with less than two minute left in the first, the Bulldog's QB, Gavynn Parker (5), connected with Dillon Metcalf in stride, and he took the ball to the Bearcat's 22 yard line. The Bearcats looked as though they could stop the Bulldogs, but on fourth down the Dogs went for it and with another Parker-Metcalf connection in the end zone the Dogs scored. The score was then 6 all. The Bearcats received the kickoff with just 51 seconds left in the first.

During the second quarter the Bulldogs found themselves in a punting situation. The punter mishandled the ball and Bearcat Clayton White (3) covered the ball on the Bulldog 12 yard line. On the next play Mooreland QB Frazier rushed in and scored 6, then, going for 2, Frazier successfully passed the ball to Landyn Crawford (80); the score read 14 Bearcats – 6 Bulldogs.

The Dogs didn't lie down and minutes later found themselves in the red zone on third down and 8 to go. The Bulldogs scored and converted and the half-time score was tied at 14 all.

Seven minutes into the third quarter the Bulldogs scored and converted and the score read 14 Cats and 22 Dogs.

Four minutes into the fourth quarter the Bulldogs scored again (a touchdown and conversion), which made the score 14 to 28.

The Bearcats didn't nap and found themselves on the Bulldog 7, and a first and goal. The next play, Frazier (QB) found Theo Sutton (2) in the end zone for 6; then Crawford (80) carried the ball in for 2 and the score was 22 to 28 with 6:00 minutes left in the game. Neither team found the end zone again as time ran out and the final score read Mooreland 22, Hooker 28.

Mooreland has a buy week as they wait the results of different games. They still have a chance to continue their season.
