ECU Women's Basketball Falls at Tarleton State

STEPHENVIILLE, Texas – The East Central University women's basketball team started their two-game road trip in Texas with a 70-50 loss at Tarleton State.

Scoring

1st Quarter: 11-25

The Texans (3-0) jumped out to a 7-0 advantage in the first 3:20

TSU kept up the pressure throughout the quarter

Led by as many at 15 points

2nd Quarter: 10-14 (21-39)

The Texans kept the advantage between 15-20 points for the entire stanza

3rd: Quarter: 12-15 (33-54)

TSU pushed out to a 24-point advantage in the first 3:15 of the quarter

The Tigers (1-2) pushed the disadvantage back to 19

The deficit remained around 20 points the rest of the stanza

4th Quarter: 17-16

ECU used a 7-0 run in the first 1:30 to cut the lead to 14

The teams traded shots and small runs through the game to keep the Texans leading between 14-20 points

19 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 7-of-15 (.467) FG%, 5-of-10 (.500) 3PT FG%

Sr. Sam Schwab earned her second game with a double-digit point total

10 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, 5-of-7 (.714) FG%

The key difference came in field goal percentage

3PT FG Pct. – ECU: 6-of-23 (26.1%) / TSU: 8-of-24 (33.3%)

TSU also earned a key advantage in second-chance points: 24-2
