That was some wind!

Just how windy was it Tuesday? The forecasters were calling for winds above 50 mph in some areas of Oklahoma. According to the Mesonet, Freedom’s maximum wind gust was measured at 62 mph. That was just below the maximum reading of 63 mph for the state. The May Ranch station near the Kansas border between Freedom and Alva registered 63 mph as did Camargo.

To the west of Freedom, Buffalo topped out at 47 mph while to the east Alva measured 54 mph. Woodward reached 60 mph and Cherokee was at 59....
