Listen up, Rep. Newton; get on the ball and straighten this out

The state is working on the highway over at four corners north of Cherokee. The corner isn't too tough during the day but is a bit tricky at night. What is stupid is the speed limits. There are several miles of 45 mph east and west of the corner with nothing going on.
Going east at the "last" 45 mph sign it also says end roadwork. Speed up to 65, right? In a while it says 65, then just as quick it goes back to 45. Then later back to 65. Confusing.
While I see a need to have a slowdown in working hours because there could be action anywhere, it is way past stupid to not let drivers travel at normal road speeds when no work is being done. It would be easy enough to have signs posted at each end of the road work with regular speeds between 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. in the morning, and weekends. Just a thought, but it could work.
It seems like I have been doing a lot more night driving lately. There seems to be a lot more stupid drivers on the road at night than there used to be.
The dimmer switch is a mystery to most of them. Even when I give a courtesy flash, it is mostly ignored. For Christmas this year I want to give all the non-dimmers a highway patrolman to show them the downside of not dimming.
My friend Bill West had these words of wisdom: I get my cereal from a tiger, insurance from a gecko, toilet paper from a bear and financial advice from a gorilla. It's people I don't trust. On the same thought wave, don't you think it is strange that a baby bear (Charmin commercial) is singing about how clean his underwear is when he is not wearing any? This commercial may have been made in a marijuana-friendly state.
An old friend and educator passed away this week. I first met Leo Brandt when I was in vo ag in the ninth grade. He was the college ag instructor at the time. Between my instructor Don Rudy and Leo, I got a lot of life/farmer knowledge to last a lifetime. I did not realize he was 95 years old, because he always thought younger. Sleep well friend.
Another lady, Sue Martin, also passed away. We were at Kenny Cole's house for a couple of impromptu concerts in the back yard where Sue would play her guitar and sing. Now she is back with the band again.
Several of my friends have passed away recently. Heaven is filling up. Have a blessed week.
