The teachers at Alva Middle School (AMS) have selected Carrinston Kline and Eliah Ruhl, eighth grade; Randee Perks and Jantz Heaton, seventh grade; and Avery Goss and Trace Hamilton, sixth grade, as AMS Students of the Month for October.

Carrinston Kline is in eighth grade and is the daughter of Jesse and Mistie Kline and granddaughter of Darrell and Ann Kline. Her favorite classes at AMS are science and reading. She is involved in robotics and playing video games and is a silver for support in Overwatch competition. In the future, she would like to be a forensic scientist. Additionally, she plays Xbox way too much.

Elah Ruhl is in eighth grade and is the son of Jason and Jacque Ruhl. His favorite classes at AMS are history and computer. In the future, he would like to be a chef or something to do with food or be a professional Pokemon trainer.

Randee Perks is in seventh grade and is the daughter of Katie and Jason Perks. Her grandparents are Benny and Deana Perks, Otic McKormic and Susie Huddleston. Her favorite classes at AMS are geography and basketball. She is involved in cheerleading, Electric Voices and leadership class. In the future, she would like to be a forensic pathologist or crime scene investigator. Additionally, she always remains positive.

Jantz Heaton is in seventh grade and is the son of Jeff and Jaci Heaton. His grandparents are Dan and Karen Heaton, Jean Moore, Gary Heaton and Judy Roberts. His favorite classes at AMS are geography and competitive athletics. He is involved in basketball, football, track, TSA, student council, and rodeos. In the future, he would like to start a cattle operation.

Avery Goss is in the sixth grade and is the daughter of Trent and Cindy Goss. Her grandparents are Richard and Bev Burger, and Bill and Betty Goss. Her favorite classes at AMS are English/language arts and vocal. She is involved in vocal, exploratory class, gym and student council. She is also involved in the ACT One theatre. In the future, she would like to be an actress. Additionally, she loves her 3-month old puppy.

Trace Hamilton is in sixth grade and is the son of Margo and Paul Hamilton. His grandparents are Randy and Mary Hamilton, and Donna and Mike Dobson. His favorite classes at AMS are science and basketball. He is involved in football and basketball. In the future, he would like to play in the NFL.

These students received lunch provided by Love's Country Store - Godfather's Pizza as an extension of the AMS Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Program implemented in the Alva Public Schools
