Blumenthal, Tong to hold robocall summit to help consumers

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Connecticut Attorney General William Tong have planned a public summit on the problem of robocalls.

The two Democrats will convene the event on Monday at the Hartford Public Library. The summit will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

A panel discussion is planned. Participants are expected to focus on actions both state and federal officials can take to protect consumers.

Representatives of the Federal Communications Commission, the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, the Better Business Bureau, and AARP are scheduled to attend. Offi...
